Sally Kirkland
Despite a talent and fervor for the type of crass self-promotion that has waylaid the careers of hundreds of film actors, Kirkland did manage to land some decent roles, including an Oscar nomination, among a wealth of grade-Z and backyard productions.

Don Knotts
RIP. For years he had one of the highest Q-scores recorded, making him one of the most recognizable people in the USA. The bumbling tunnel-visioned Barney Fife is recognized repeatedly as one of the most distinctive characters in the history of television. His film work was spottier, as his odd character lent itself better to 3 minute explosions rather than to the slower character development afforded in films, but he pulled in a few memorable parts, particularly in films pitched mostly to children and teens throughout the 60s and 70s. Made his last splash playing a parody of Barney in Robert Zemeckis’s Pleasantville.
Ten best roles
